NorthWind partners receive funding for offshore wind projects

On 13 June, the Research Council of Norway (NFR) announced funding for 27 new projects on renewable energy research. NorthWind partners SINTEF Energy Research and SINTEF Ocean have received funding for six new projects that will strengthen research in various areas relating to offshore wind.

These projects are:

SINTEF ENERGI ASDevelopment of coupled offshore and onshore power grids
SINTEF OCEAN ASNylon ropes for mooring of floating wind turbines
SINTEF ENERGI ASReliability of eco-friendly cables in future power grids
SINTEF OCEAN ASBottom Fixed Offshore Wind Turbines in Extreme Waves
SINTEF ENERGI ASImpact of switched voltage waveforms on power components and grids
SINTEF ENERGI ASModeling a 100% Renewable Electricity System

Congratulations on these projects! We look forward to following their development.
