Today, the Research Council of Norway published the results of this year’s grants for Green Platform projects. We are happy to see that NorthWind partner Vard Design was awarded funding for their Ocean Charger project. This is an excellent addition to NorthWind.
The Green Platform Initiative aims to stimulate bigger and more rapid investments from companies in sustainable solutions and products. Projects funded by this initiative are relatively large, industry-oriented research and innovation projects that will trigger opportunities for green value creation.
Ocean Charger will develop solutions and technologies for charging sea vessels offshore. This is highly relevant for vessels used to service offshore wind farms and will facilitate the overall green shift within the shipping industry. The market is international with large export potential.
