FME NorthWind was represented at a collaboration forum about offshore wind organised by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, on Friday, 20 May.
Among the participants were representatives from a series of offshore and coastal industrial companies and organisations. Worker’s unions and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) were also represented.
Minister Terje Aasland gave an overview of the government’s work in the field of offshore wind. One of the purposes of the meeting was to lay the groundwork for continued collaboration between the various industries to ensure a satisfactory coexistence of offshore wind and other industries. Another key point was to discuss the necessary research and development that will make offshore wind exploitation possible, as well as the industrial development it makes possible.
The plan is to continue the discussions moving forward, so as to provide the government with the necessary advice to ensure the optimal expansion of this growing Norwegian industry.
