Enova to invest up to two billion in floating offshore wind this year

Enova is launching a new programme to stimulate increased innovation and technological developments in floating offshore wind, as well as contribute to reducing costs associated with wind energy production in Utsira Nord and future wind farm sites.

The programme is a competition for projects demonstrating cost-effective concepts. Applications will be assessed based on the technology’s ability to contribute to the transition to a low-emission society. They will be ranked based on installed MW power per kroner financed by the programme (70%) and the innovation level and diffusion potential (30%).

The first round will run this autumn, with a funding limit of up to two billion Norwegian kroner. The application deadline is 1 December. A second round is planned for 2024 or 2025 for a similar amount.
